My roles have changed drastically over the years. I started off as a student, then a full-time Quality Assurance Team Lead. Moved on to becoming a Systems Analyst for one of the largest companies in the world, and then quit to become an entrepreneur. I ended up being an "all-the-time" coder, HR manager, project manager, finance manager... all at the same time for our two-person little team. As of now, I am also a full-time mother to a 2-year old, which trumps everything I've ever done.
I have written huge content management systems from scratch using PHP and MySQL. I have great enthusiasm for open source technologies and have a lot of experience with many open source systems such as osCommerce, Zen Cart, Joomla, and Wordpress. I successfully organized huge amounts of data - one particular case worth mentioning was huge amounts of encrypted data present in flat files for a large tea company which I structured and inserted in an Oracle database.
PHP is my main strength, but I am proficient in many programming languages: C, C++, PHP, Visual Basic, ASP.Net. I've been working with PHP since 2004. All my applications use the Smarty template engine. Most of my code uses object-oriented PHP. I have a sound understanding of database design: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle - MySQL being my prefered database system.
During my BS, I gathered good network administration concepts (Linux) and have worked on web, proxy, DHCP servers; and many network security tools (Snort, TCPDump, Nmap, etc.). I have an MBA (Major: MIS), and a BS (Computer Science). I have interned and then worked for Procter & Gamble as a Systems Analyst. I have also worked as a Quality Assurance Team Lead for World Now. After my MBA, I taught Introduction to Programming, Databases, Project Management, Web Development at the Institute of Business Administration. I loved teaching!
It has been great working for clients from all over the world for the last 6-7 years now; including Australia, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Greece, USA, UK, France, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Ireland.
